Collective Writings
By: E. Sivertsen, 06.13.2006

To make it easier for the occasional reader to get an overview of Kit's writings, we decided to create a 'collective writings' page, to list up all of his writings in the order that they were released, with the newest on top. So far there are only three available, but there's more to come.

We use encrypted PDF format to present the writings, and to prevent unauthorized use of any of their content. Last year the tabloids took great interest in the Michael Jackson story "Lost Boy", and printed parts of it without permission. Which effectively ruined any plans of having it published. Who wants to print material that's already out there anyway. We are fully aware that it is not impossible to steal material from these writings, but at least it takes a lot more work than before.

"Early Stages"  -  A Memoir
I loved Anthony Quinn. I do not throw the word 'love' around much, but I loved the man and came to absolutely adore him beyond measure. Even to this day I hold a very special place for him in my heart. He literally adopted me on the spot. He had just arrived in New York, I remember, and was planning on moving his family east from Los Angeles, and I guess that he may have been (at least initially) without much social life (at least that which he cared much for) in this new home city, and so he literally insisted on including me in on so many of his activities.

"Early Stages" (26 pages)

Kit Culkin's own reminiscences of playing on Broadway stages with Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, Richard Burton and many another thespian fellow.

Now including the following chapters:

- A Broadway Debut (1960)
- Quatrocentennial Shakespeare (1964)

"I Don't Think So"  -  Confessions Of The Stage Father From Hell
Kieran was a quick study. Bright and imaginative, and possessed with a huge and highly intuitive funny-bone, he could mug and mime and perform most anything, much as could Macaulay. Indeed, visitors to our flat in those days would often be entertained by their performances together of some piece of dramaturgy or other; acts which would often end with both of them (HeMan and BeastMaster, swords and shields in hand) setting upon one another (Footnote: Sometimes you'd have to separate them before the curtain call).

The Week That Was
Was I hurt? Sure. Did I cry? No. Was I discouraged? Well, they didn’t write ‘Great Expectations’ in my high school yearbook for nothing. This was but the darkness before the dawn. Go to sleep. Things would get better (or as Scarlett might assure, ‘Tomorrow would bring with it another day’). Yes, things could only get better; they could only get better indeed, and all would be well. All would be well. America the Beautiful…

The Week That Was (14 pages)

With all the events taking place right up to the point where Kit gets the message that Pat has gone to court suing for custody of their children.

Lost Boy  -  Michael Jackson By Kit Culkin
As I say, somewhere along the line I believe that I would have picked up on something if anything between any one of my children and Michael had been amiss, because I always felt myself attuned to both them and to elements of this regard (the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end sort of thing); but there was never anything that even came close to truly speaking to such a situation but with a single exception; and to be fair to the purposes of these writings (which is to tell what I know), I would be most lacking in truth not to tell of it, for it did indeed have an impact on me in a "better safe than sorry" sort of way...
